This video will show you how to do a thick fan stitch pattern. It's perfect for blankets, scarves, or anything that you want to keep you warm. Multiple of 5+2 chains is needed for this stitch pattern. This is a very easy pattern for a beginner but interesting enough for someone more experienced. Pattern is below. The photo above shows a swatch that used a chain of 27. The video shows a smaller swatch of 17.

This is a very quick pattern to make and a fun one also.



Hook size: I
Chained 17 for the video  (Multiple of 5+2 chain)
Gauge: is 3 stitches per inch and 1.65 rows per inch

Abbreviations:
sc = single crochet
dc = Double Crochet
dtr = Double Triple Crochet
ch = Chain
* = repeat instructions between them
TCH = Turning Chain

Multiple of 5 + 2 chains needed

Row 1:   Do 1sc in the 2nd chain from hook. Do 1 sc in the next chain. *ch3, skip 2 chains, do 1 sc in each of the next 3 chains. * repeat instructions between *. End with 1 sc in each of the last 2 chains.

Row 2:   Ch 1, 1sc in the first stitch, *do 5dc in the chain 3 space. Skip 1 stitch. Do 1sc in the next sc. * repeat instructions between * across the row.

Row 3: ch 6 ( 1dtr+ch1) Skip the 1st stitch, , 1dc in each of the next 3 dc's, (they should always be centered over the 5-dc group from the previous row), ch3. *Skip next 3 stitches, 1dc in each of the next 3 dc's, ch3* repeat instructions between * until you have 2 stitches left then do chain 1 and do 1dtr in last stitch.

Row 4: ch 3, 2dc in first chain 1 space, *Do 1sc in center dc, Do 5 dc in next chain 3 space*
repeat instructions between * When you get to the last chain space do 2dc in it then do 1dc in the 3rd chain of the beginning ch6 from the previous row. If you're not sure how to find it just count from the bottom up.


Row 5: ch 1, 1sc in each of the first 2 stitches, *chain 3, skip 3 stitches, 1sc in each of the next 3 stitches * repeat instructions between * until you have 2 stitches left (you will have the last stitch and the turning chain) do 1 sc in each of them.
