Alternating Puff Stitch Square


Alternative Puff Stitch Square Crochet pattern

This is the Alternative Puff stitch Crochet stitch pattern. If you would like a pattern where the Puff stitches create texture put are not as prominent than the average Puff stitch then this pattern is for you.

Materials Used:
Yarn - Bernat Worsted Blue or any yarn you prefer
Hook Size H/8/5.00mm

Finished Size: 7 ½ x 7 ½ inch Square

Abbreviations:
PUFF STITCH INSTRUCTIONS:

How to do this Puff St: [YO, insert hook into next st, YO and pull through (and bring it even with the other sts on your hook) ]3 times…YO and pull through all 7 loops.

*  :Repeat the directions between them
SC - Single Crochet
Ch - Chain

Gauge: 3.46 sts per 1 inch / 3.75 rows per 1 inch

Pattern
Multiple of 4 + 2 chains needed
Chain 26

Row 1: SC in second chain from hook and in each chain across (25 SC)

Row 2: Ch 1, turn, 1 SC in each of the first 4 stitches * 1 Puff St in next stitch, 1 SC in each of the next 3 stitches*
Repeat * to * up to the last stitch, SC in the last stitch

Row 3: Ch 1, turn, 1 Sc in each stitch across the row

Row 4: Ch 1, turn, 1 SC in each of the first 2 stitches, Work 1 Puff st in the next stitch, *1 SC in each of the next 3 stitches, Work 1 Puff st in the next stitch*      Repeat from * to * up to the last 2 stitches and do 1 SC in each of the last 2 sts.

Row 5: Ch 1, turn, 1 Sc in each stitch across the row

Repeat rows 2-5 for pattern
