This is the shortest of all the Crochet stitches. You can use as many chains as needed for your item.
For this example I will chain 15. This makes a tight fabric. Not a lot of flexibility. It's great for a blanket or a scarf or anything that needs to keep you warm.

Gauge: 3 sts per inch and 3.5 rows per inch
ch 15 = 5 inches wide
17 rows = 5 inches tall
Hook Size: I
Pattern:
Row 1: go into 2nd chain from the hook and do 1sc. Do 1 sc in each stitch across the row
(14 sc made)
Row 2: ch1, Do 1 sc in each stitch across the row
