Crochet Video Tutorial: An Easy way to do the Turning Chain (TCH)

I wanted to show you how to do the turning chain. There is an easy way. You crochet into it when you end the previous row with a Double Crochet or any stitch larger that it.

***TIP: BUT if you have problems with the Turning Chain you can alter any pattern and instead of doing a ch3 at the beginning of  proceeding rows do chain 2, and 1 HDC in the first stitch. Then on the next row you will have an actual stitch to end in. There's no need to change the amount of chains you did to start.  I often do this when I'm making something, like a blanket, for someone else and I want a stronger edge.

In the video I did a bunch of dc's. It starts in the middle of row 2 so if you want follow the instructions below and when you get to the end of row 2 you can view the video.

Here is a practice swatch for you if you need to practice the turning chain.

Chain 10

Row 1: Do 1 DC in the 4th chain from the hook. Do 1 DC in each stitch across the row. (You made 7 dc's)

Row 2: Chain 3, turn. Do 1 DC in each stitch across the row.

Let me know if you have ANY questions.

Thanks for visiting.
