Diamond Bobble Crochet Stitch Pattern

Beginner bobble pattern


This is a stitch pattern that you can apply to any project. I made it for a charity I crochet for.

SIZE: 6 inches wide by 9 inches high
HOOK SIZE: I
YARN: Michaels, Impeccible Loops and Threads

Stitches Used:
Single Crochet, Half Double Crochet, Bobble

HOW TO MAKE A CROCHET BOBBLE
  • -YO, insert hook into next stitch, pull through, YO, Pull through 2 loops
  • -YO, insert hook (in same stitch), YO, pull up a loop, YO, pull through two loops (3 loops on hook)

  • YO, insert hook (in same stitch), YO, pull up a loop, YO, pull through two loops (4 loops on hook)
  • YO, insert hook (in same stitch), YO, pull up a loop, YO, pull through two loops
  • YO pull through all 5 loops
PATTERN NOTES:
I'm not going to write this into the instructions because it's just something I do. I do a Single Crochet after each bobble. It makes the bobble stick out more. If you've never done a bobble it will pop out on the opposite side you're working on. aLSO, the first HDC of the row does not count as a stitch.

CHAIN 19:
Rows 1: Do 1 Hdc in 3rd stitch from the hook. Do 1Hdc in each stitch to end of row. (17 Hdc)

Rows 2, 3, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, 18-22: Chain 2, Do 1 Hdc in each stitch across the row. (17 Hdc)

Rows 5 and 17: Chain 2, Do 1 Hdc in the next 8 stitches, Do 1 Bobble in next stitch, Do 1 Hdc in the next 8 stitches

Rows 7 and 15: Chain 2, Do 1 Hdc in the next 6 stitches, Do 1 Bobble next stitch, Do 1 Hdc in the next 3 stitches, Do 1 Bobble next stitch, Do 1 Hdc in the next 6 stitches

Rows 9 and 13: Chain 2, Do 1 Hdc in the next 4 stitches, Do 1 Bobble next stitch, Do 1 Hdc in the next 3 stitches, Do 1 Bobble next stitch, Do 1 Hdc in the next 3 stitches, Do 1 Bobble next stitch,
Do 1 Hdc in the next 4 stitches.

Row 11: Chain2, Do 1 Hdc in the next 2 stitches, Do 1 Bobble next stitch, [Do 1 Hdc in the next 3 stitches, Do 1 Bobble next stitch] 3 times total, Do 1 Hdc in the next 2 stitches.
