Pink and White Baby Blanket plus Trim

Baby Blanket all Half Double Crochet Invisible sewing technique

I made this baby blanket for a friend of mine. It's a very basic pattern. I only used Half Double Crochets. It's definetly a pattern a beginner could do. I used a K hook and used a foundation chain of 24. This baby blanket is made up of 12 squares. Each is 9 inches by 9 inches. I made 3 columns and sewed them side by side.  Each column will have 4 squares. Just change colors when you reach the 9 inches.

I added a very easy crochet trim on this blanket. All you have to do is alternate *1Double Crochet in the next stitch, and 2 Double Crochet in the next st.* Except for the corners do 3 stitches in each one.

Puff Stitch Crochet Stitch Pattern

This is the Puff Stitch in the finished size of 9 in by 6. It's made lengthwise. I made this for a charity that used 9x6 inch sections. That's why I created this size. You can use the gauge to see what size you need.

Need to know how to do the Puff stitch I made a video that you can find at  https://youtu.be/xAk8Qr-n_Hk

Gauge: 2.25 rows per inches and 3 stitches per inch

Hook: I
Chain 27
Rows: 14
Experience: Beginner
Yarn: Red Heart

PUFF STITCH:
YO, insert hook in next st, (YO, pull up a loop) 4 times, then YO, and draw through all loops on hook

Other Stitches Used:
Half Double Crochet

Foundation Row: Do 1HDC in 3rd chain from hook and do 1 HDC in each stitch across the row.

Row 1: chain 2, turn.do 1 HDC in each of the next 2 stitches, Do 1 Puff Stitch in next stitch, *Do 1 HDC in each of the next 4 stitches, 1 Puff stitch in next stitch* end with 1 HDC in each of the last 2 stitches

Row 2: chain 2, turn…do 1HDC in each stitch across the row

Row 3: chain 2, turn…Do 1HDC in each of the next 5 stitches, *Do 1 puff stitch in next st, Do 1 HDC in each of the next 4 stitches* repeat 4 times

Row 4: repeat row 2

Repeat rows 1-4 for pattern until you reach 8 ½ inches then repeat row 2 to end and fasten off. We want 2 rows of HDC's at the beginning and at the end so when they crochet the afghan they don't run into Puff stitches.  Weave in all ends

Thanks for stopping by today :)

Blue Bobble Crochet Pattern

                                                                   9 x 6 inch rectangle

This is a staggered bobble crochet pattern. You are going to chain 25 stitches and it's made length-wise. It measures 9 x 6 inches. It's a very easy pattern. I made it this size for a charity but you can make it any size you would like.

STITCHES USED:
*Half Double Crochet
*MB (Make Bobble)

HOW TO MAKE A CROCHET BOBBLE
YO, insert hook into next stitch, pull through, YO, Pull through 2 loops
YO, insert hook (in same stitch), YO, pull up a loop, YO, pull through two loops (3 loops on hook)
YO, insert hook (in same stitch), YO, pull up a loop, YO, pull through two loops (4 loops on hook)
YO, insert hook (in same stitch), YO, pull up a loop, YO, pull through two loops
YO pull through all 5 loops

If your bobble isn't as pronounced as you would like it you can do a single crochet after each bobble. It would replace the Half Double Crochet you would normally make. It makes a tighter fit.

Pattern: Row 1: Do 1 Hdc in third chain from hook, and do 1 Hdc in each stitch across the row (23 Hdc's)

Row 2, 6, 10, 13: chain 2 turn, do 1 Hdc in each stitch across the row

Row 3, 7, 11: chain 2 turn, *Do 1 Hdc in the first 3 stitches, MB* repeat *-* and end with MB and the 3 Hdc's (4 bobbles)

Row 4, 8, 12: chain 2 turn, do 1 Hdc in each stitch across the row

Row 5, 9: chain 2 turn, Do 1 Hdc in the first 5 stitches, MB, *1 Hdc in each of the next 3 stitches, MB* repeat *-* and end with 5HDC's

The pattern repeats rows 2-5 but I wanted 2 rows of Half Double Crochets at the beginning and at the end.

Thanks!
